When my tailgate is down, my back up alarm stays on when I'm in reverse. Anyone else have that same problem and is there a quick fix (without taking it to the dealer)?
The alarm also goes off when you try to back a trailer. I just use the dash mounted button to disable it while I'm backing the trailer. Some boat launching ramps are mighty long and that alarm can get really anoying.
Sometime when you wash them in the winter ice will collect and cause them to go off even when not close to something. First time I had them was on my Excursion - hated the annoying beep but could shut it off when I wanted too. Got an Expedition in December that doesn't have them and missed that annoying sound so when I ordered the new F250 I made sure it had the back-up sensors and am glad I did. Found that having them was better than being without.
Went to the Dealer. 2 hrs later the SM came out and said that not only the reverse sensors but the back up lights are out. Seems they are on the same line.
They started tracing wires and could not find the problem - yet.
Had to leave the truck over night and they will (should) work on it Wed. They hope to find the problem (so do I).
New technology according to the SM. I am sure glad this is the first ever Ford vehivle with reverse sensors.
I don't have the reverse sensing system. I have my own...my wife yelling at me that I'm too close to something everytime I back up even though I'm a million miles away from it...sheesh.
Now... I will have to tell my wife (who is proud to tell me... I wait for the reverse sensing system to beep, then I know I am close enough to the garage) to be careful and LOOK in the mirrors/back window to make sure the system is in fact working....
It's a cool feature though... I love it myself.
Can't wait to see my...... wife next Wednesday... She is picking me up at the airport with my truck.
