Power Wire through Firewall

I just decided where I am going to put switches for auxillary items, such as back up lamp, cargo lamps, fog lamps, etc... Kinda power hungry devices. I am thinking that an 8awg wire is the smallest I want to run, since down the road I don't know what else to add, so figure bigger it better now so I don't have to do it twice. Question is, I cannot find an easy point to run that large of a wire through the Firewall. Has anyone done some audio amp installs found a spot for that size of wire?

BTW, I put four switches inside the ash tray, close the tray and they all turn off.

on audio installs they will drill a hole in the firewall and put a riubber gromet on it, so you could do that. an easy way is to take a screwdriver and put a little hole in the rubber boot around steering colum where it comes thru the firewall and put the wire in that way. i also see your truck is an auto so you can come in where the cluth would have been, that is a "hat" shaped rubber plug with foam on the back of it. it is in the upper left hand side of the drivers side foot well on the firewall...take your pick
