I've been playing around with my new carb rying to get it tuned.... Before it would back fire out the carb when I get on it at low rpm, now its only doing it when its cold.. and sometimes it does it when it warm, like something is getting stuck in the carb or something...
what about a leaky break booster? Ive noticed my engine works good when the brakes work good... When the pedal's hitting the floor the engine usually dies aswell or runs lousy.
What are some things that cause carb back fire??
DId wrenching on the vacuum diaphragm thing cause this...? This truck is really starting to aggrevate me One thing after another..... Then again what else do I have to do with my spare time?
I am guessing you are either running timing to retarded, try setting it at 10 degrees btdc, or you have a vacumm leak. The thing about your brakes suggests you may have a vacumm leak. Keep the faith amigo. it is all worht it when it is done.
I think I'm gonna try that today once I get my 33 x12.5" mudders on The truck is on blocks right now. I'm going to try the timing thing if blocking the booster don't work. Then I check the mounting of the carb and change the gaskets.
All this is mucking around is gonna make spinning those mudders feel a whole lot better when it comes time.
