I've got the same engine but never had it apart. The heads should be the E7TE's. I've heard from others on this forum that the heads are the same as the older 2bbl and the later EFI engines. I think the only real differences in the engine were the carb and posssibly the cam. Here's a link to an older thread that details this: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/a...ic/117845.html I've compared this cam info to what's given in my Haynes manual and it appears to be a different cam. I know mine has got a lot more low RPM grunt than many others I've driven, although it runs out of steam pretty early. I had decided to build the basic combo in this old post with the exception of using the CompCams 265 Dual Energy cam and converting to GM TBI injection. Unfortunately for me, after getting the Headers, ECM/Harness/Injector/Sensors, PROM burner, Flash memory adaptor, chips and machining/rebuilding the injector and harness, converting a distributor to GM computer control, etc, etc.... I wrecked the crap out of it last week without ever getting to do the buildup.

They are probably E5TE same as the E7's, except the E5 have larger combustion chambers 69cc +/- vs E7's have 64cc +/- and a larger thermactor bump, otherwise they are the same. At least that is what came on my 87 351w, I wouldn't think they would have put something different on a 86. later
