I have a 2004 FX4 SCREW with the daystar leveling kit. I just ordered 17' Weld Stone Crusher rims with BFG LT315/70R-17 tires. Tires are equivalent to 34's or 35's.
The guys at Discount tires said that my truck will have no problem filling that size tire, but I am a bit skeptical . Even if the tires do fit, will I have enough clearance to do some off roading? What do you guys think? Thanks.
I have Weld Velociti 6 wheels with 285/70/17 BFG's (33" tall)
with the Daystar kit on my Scab and have no rubbing problems at all. I think if you go with the taller tire (35") there may be some rubbing issues.
I might be mistaken, but from what I've read on this forum, 33" is about as tall as you can go.
BlkButy has Nitto 325/60R18s (a 32.99" tire) and reports that he gets a slight rub when cranked all the way to one side. These are the tires I'll eventually put on my truck.
I agree. Anything bigger than 33 with only the daystar kit will rub. I made a trip to the local tire store and tried the LT305/70/17 on my truck and they were very close. Ended up with the 285's and there is enough clearance.
Thanks for the info. I'll have the rims and watever tires i get installed on Monday or Thuesday. I'll let you know what the final outcome is. Thanks again.
35" will fit, they fit on mine, you just need to do a little work on the inner fender and wheel lip molding on the back side, it will go, if the 33's are going to rub a little then why not go with the 35's
