Hi,
I had a post about rpms too high on the freeway earlier. I am noticing that sometimes if I start out slow I will drop down into a cruise mode and be going about 55 and running rpms of 2100 or so. Here is SC we have loops to enter the freeway that are short so I have to punch it and then I seem to run in the 3100 range? Is this a kickdown rod problem? I mean I have run it without the rod and it seems to be the same? Power band problem has been suggested but that is greek to me as I like manuals and this is my first auto. I'm getting old!
For review, I have a 68 F100 that I tranferred power everything and a C6 into a truck with a rebuilt 390 with a edel carb..
Any ideas?

I would install the rod, because otherwise the tranny is running in dummy mode, does not know when to shift because does not know how much throttle you are giving it. Go ahead and hook up the kickdown cable.
