I have a chance to buy a 95 f-250 power stroke, auto trans 4x4, 4.10 diff, with 90K miles
ext cab and a nice shell. The guy is askeing $15K. I thnki is worth more like $ 13K any thoughts? Is the 95 a good year? any probelm with them that You know of?
I f I buy this I plan on it being my last ruck for a long long long time. Will it last ? Thnks J.
wycowboy, I just went and looked at some web sites for our area here in Washington state. That truck (depending on overall condition but, I am assuming average condtion) here would be anywhere from 12 to 16K. I guess it kind of depends on your local market there. How does it drive, tires, maintenance records, work done.....you know the drill.
I think that's a little high, myself. Even if you don't care about cosmetic blemishes, they do reduce the market value. What you might do is check out kelleys.com, and see what the blue book value is. Then you can make a nice printout and use it for dickering leverage. Don't forget about things like tires, upholstery, what kind of music system, trailer hitches and wiring, does it have the adjustable lumbar supports (I think they're little airbags, there's a power switch next to each front seat)
You can also use Kelleys to see what comparable '96 models are worth. That's often an eye-opener.
I drive a '95 and I love it. Haven't heard any bad things about that year in this forum, either.
I'm realy tempted by this truck . a diesel for sale w/ 90K. I need truch that can pull horse with out breaking a sweat. It also has a realy nice shell retail 3 grand, new so I figuer itsl wouth,1.5 to 2 now. Good tow package.
