front axle id (please)

I just bought this truck a week ago and want to do some up-grades. I need to know what the front end is, here is the #

3 54 E3TA AMC
6101995

ANY HELP WILL BE GREAT

Is the truck in question the one in your sig? If so, you should have a Dana 50 twin traction beam with a 3.54:1 ratio.

Yes it is the truck, the front axle does not look like the onesI have heard described there

Do you know if the axle is stock? It is a well known modification to pull the ttb out of the front of these 3/4 tons and replace them with a solid axle. To kind of simplify things. Take a good look at your front axle. It should have leaf springs. Now does it look like an axle that is just in 2 pieces? If so, you still have you Twin Traction beam (ttb) front axle. Why they used this with leaf springs is beyond me.

Yes it is a ttb yes leaf springs

Well, it should be a Dana 50 with a 3.54:1 gear ratio. I don't know if the 50 is closer to the Dana 44 or 60 though. I have never worked on a Dana 50, only a 44.
