Horsepower Diffirence 390-428?
I dont have a book yet on the FE's.....
So maybe someone who has can help?
I think the stock 70 truck 390 is about 255 hp??
What is the stock run of the mill 69,70,71 428 hp rating?

And is all this listed in the Christ Book!! Thats the one I ordered!

The CJ motors were rated at 335 hp. Not really sure how much they dropped off for a plain jane'r.

Actually the plain jane'r 428 dropped up to 345hp, the factory was playing games with the CJ ratings.
A typical car 2V 390 was rated around 270hp, the 4V around 300hp and the 410 at 330hp.
There were no 428's in '71.

BB....I must have got confused about the 71? maybe that was the 429 in the LTD??

The 390 PI solid lifter was 330 hp(if I remember right).
Ya, the 335 was advertised HP.

Yes it had to be, the last 428's in the big Galaxies/LTD was '68.

Well Guys!!!
I couldnt wait!!! went to the dudes house today at Lunch!!
It was suppose to be the 428 short block with the rotating
Assy..... Ya right!! all the guts were gone!!!
I took my buds Magna Flux unit and on top of all..the block was cracked!!! I took my inside mic's and it was a .030 bored 390...
I had to LMAO!! when he said he would sell it to me for $100
So much for me trying to find a decent short Block thru a Dummy

Night just hoping it was in good condition and a 428?

Nothing wrong wit ha 410/416 using a 352/360/390 block and 428 crank. Keep that option in mind.
