Piston slap on 2001 V10?
Does the 2001 V10 have the piston slap problem or has it been fixed? I am going to buy a new truck in the next 2 months and am leaning toward the F250, V10. If piston slap is still a problem I will find something different.

I don't recall any recent topics concerning piston slap with the newer motors. Ford's repair date of April 99 seems to be the cutoff date. Seems like the newest issue is with exhaust flutter.

Piston slap on 2001 V10?
The piston slap problems were all fixed in both the 6.8L V-10 and 5.4L V-8 in April of '99. If your buying a new truck you don't have to worry about piston slap.
