460 engine setup
Hey guys,
Heres my current engine setup as of this post (not running yet)
79 460 - .030 over, 10/10 crank
Ported/Polished heads unknown casting, its been ground off
Double Valvesprings
CompCams 280H with matching lifters
AccuFab 3 1/2" headers (2in primaries)
Forged Rods (need to order)
Forged Pistons (need to order)
Plasma Moly Rings (need to order)
Clevite 77 bearings (need to order)
double roller timing set // OR // gear drive timing set
HI-Vol Oil pump (need to order)
HI-Flow water pump
MSD-6AL Ignition with blaster coil
Holley 750 Double pumper
rebuilt C6
TCI 3000 converter
the parts i have to order are gonna run hopefully under 1000 dollars.
I still need an intake, ive heard awesome things about the weiand stealth. the intake i have is a torker 460. apparently its not the same as a torker ii 460. the torker 460 has very tall narrow runners made for .....torque.
Im slapping this mess into an 83 mustang GT. power from 2000 rpms to 6500. wondering what intake would be best for my cam/heads combo.
IF anybody has run this cam and a similar setup, im wondering what kind of power to expect. im shooting for the 450-500hp and 500-550tq range. we'll see what happens. after i get the engine tuned and efficient, im going to turbocharge it. but....thats way down the road and doesnt need to be dealt with yet.
any suggestions, questions, comments??
