key ding dosen't shut off

Just tonight I noticed that when I pulled my key out of the ignition the dinger stayed on. I put the keys in, turned it around a few times, but it stayed on. Now can I spray WD-40 in there or will it harm anything?

Hmm, lots to short out in there. I don't think I'd try spraying directly into the switch. You might try spraying the key and run it in and out of the switch a few times.

Ok, so get this. I put in a flex-a-lite electic fan the other day. The signal wire is going to the fuse that runs the radio. Today I installed a lighted kill switch. I T tapped the signal wire to the fan for the power to the switch. This seems to have done something wierd in that the key dinger runs until I turn the switch on. Then if I flip it back it the buzzer stays off. It will not have another problem until I start the engine again. Anyone have any ideas?

lighted kill switch?

OK, now this is just an idea. try replacing the lighted switch with a regular or new one. it seems that the circuit for the key-in buzzer is gettin grounded by your new wiring. because as i remember the tab in the key-lock is only one wire to ground that runs the buzzer. And i think that the switch light circuit might be grounding the buzzer circuit.
--OH NO! there i go thinkin' agin--
