last week i got rear ended in a parking lot, the result my rear bumber on my 92 explorer is bent down a little no damage to it just bent down, looks like the tow plate or step is bent the most bumper bent a little, my question is can i fix this my self if so how, or do i have to get a new bumper only reason it was a buddy who hit me otherwise it would be at the body shop, also i got hit before from behinde the girl had a eclipse went under the exploerer and ripped the spare tire and mount off also bent the bumper took it to ford and they repaced the spare tire mount and some how staintened the bumper out all said and done 175, her insurence gave me 900 to fix it, but i want to know if i can straiten it again or do i have to get a new bumper, how do i straiten it if i can, the first time i was hit it was a lot worse now its not too bad hardley noticable.

If you got lucky, the brackets were bent and not the bumper. Either way, as long as the frame isn't tweaked, it's a simple unbolt and rebolt. Probably 2 or 3 bolts holding the brackets to each frame rail.
Most likely it would be cheaper to get a new bumper. To straighten and rechrome one is expensive.
