When I was driving in the wet weather today I noticed everytime that I went to stop, my truck jerked like the abs was on, but it wasn't abs because it would do it at 5 mph or from 50 to 5, no matter what it jerked and it made the whole truck shake. I was thinking, could it be a rusted spot on the rotors?
Yeah the pedal pulsated, but it wasn't the ABS, my dad's van had his front rotors get two little rust spots so they did the same thing. Just asking before I go get a new set of rotors
yup, sounds like warped rotors or drums. You probably don't need new ones, just get the old ones turned, and replace the pads/shoes. never had the problem in my F150, but my moms car was very bad for this. Some people say after you come to a hard stop (like off the freeway) if you stop at a stop light/sign, you should let off the brakes and then put on the brakes again (changing the location of the red-hot pads against the rotors. I know this is silly to watch other cars do, but it makes some sense).
