I have a 2000 ford ranger xlt v6 3.0l 4x4. I wanted to know if anyone else has problems with unlocking their doors with a key. I have to turn my key like 20 times and wiggle it around just to get my passenger door open. I just wanted to know if this was a common problem with the newer trucks or not. My brother told me that his friend has the same problem. Thanks
I have the same problem with my 2001 but it's in both doors. Lucky me i have keyless entry . But I did find out that if i stuck the key in the slot and then hit it with my palm pretty hard it would turn other wise i couldn't get it to turn. Found that out when i locked keys in and used key i made only to get in the truck.
They stick after awhile... Go to a hardware store and pick up some lock lube, preferably a graphite based one, inject some in the lock (But not too much, or you'll foul the Door Ajar switch), and you should be good to go...
hi.. i have this problemo with my 99 ranger and the drivers side door.. keeping the spare key hidden under truck has come in handy a few times.. time to get a new key made, hope that solves it!!
Yeah, same with drivers side door, you have to wiggle it a bit to get it to open. I'd shoot it with some graphite lubircant, or either have another key made. a
