A chip won't help you at all. Just set your (base) timing up and run super unleaded. Chips reconfigure fuel amounts and timing on distributorless ignitions. Your model had a distributor. Hope this helps a little.

If you want to get some more HP out of your engine then start with the basics such as intake and exhaust. Once you get all the bolt-ons then you might want to have your heads ported and polished or bore your engine out to a 3.0. Then you'll get some good HP increases. You could probably get your heads ported/polished and all the bolt ons for less than a grand.
