start when cold but?

I own a 1989 E150 302 V8 and when I start the engine in the morning it takes about 10 sec to obtain fast idle afterwards its ok it runs like pretty good idle is smooth acceleration good it does that only when cold or first start of the day what is the problem?

I check on computer no code only 11 for good

I would suspect the IAC (idle air control). It is what controls the idle speed. As they age, they tend to stick more when cold.

yep this is the first reasonable answer i got to thids time you know i cleaner the IAC but this doesnt say that is still good but why they stick when they get old?

I finally went to to the scrap yard and got a used IAC unit for $10
what a go problem is solved thanks again
