can someone tell me just what Energy suspension Sway bar links are? I see people talking about putting them on their Expies... If it is something I need I wnat to know thanks
The reason most people put them on their truck is due to the stock linkage "dissappearing". It is cheaper to put on the EnergySuspension component than the stock pieces which will rust/break off again.
If you look at your front sway bar, the ends will be connected to a 5" long bolt with rubber bushings. That is the end link,,,,,the bolt and bushings. Ford end links have a nasty habbit of breaking and "disappearing". The Energy suspension kits are alot beefier and alot cheaper. You can wait till they break or just change them out now.
thanks everyone.. I checked my linkage, they are still there. but I was told that if i wanted to change them I should change the whold sway bar to a beefier one with stronger bushing (neo something) any info on this???
They are probably referring to polyurethane bushings. The stock end bushings and the sway bar bushings are made out of rubber. Just replacing the stock bushings with urethane ones will stiffen things up a bit.
I think the advantage of the Energy Suspension parts is the plating. The bolt diameters are nearly the same. The Ford links are rusting and then snapping.
