i'm putting new exhaust on my truck......wonder if anyone knows of a good muffler that sounds like the stang?......love the way they sound and wouldn't mind if my truck sounded like it. thanks for any help!
What kind of stang are you referring to? Most mustangs seem to love running flowmasters. Can you accurately describe the sound you are trying to achieve? The exhaust note can alter with drivetrain upgrades, as well as timing. It is hard to recreate a specific mustang one hears, but you can normally come close.
Hey Junior,I agree with Rich on the FLOWMASTERS. Don't let them talk you into going over 2 inches on those pipes, unless you have a performace cam and other modifications.
If your talking, a stock type single exhaust, then just slip one of those FLOWMASTERS on there and go.I think you'll like the sound and the add perfomance.
Well seeing as we dont know exactly what you heard, it is tough to say which to choose. Check out the list on the right hand side of this page. It gives a little info about each, and offers more in depth info when you click get details
Also remember its not just the muffler but the whole system that creates the sound. Diameter of pipes, length, muffler, headers, balance(h-pipe) or x pipes for true dual systems. Around here most guys are running flow 40's with an h pipe and they sound real good. With the x-pipe they sound a little smoother kind of like a ferrari or something but still good. No balance tube creates an old school burble.
