'81 302 Problems
Just bought an '81 F-100 Stepside with a 302 and I'm assuming the gas/air mixture is too rich. It doesn't like to be punched to the floor and it stalls out. The previous owner had put a new electric choke on but said he didn't set it right. I'm also getting backfire through the exhaust. Is this a carberator, timing or choke problem or a combination of the three? Also the kickdown (passing gear) regulator has a wire that is cut off and I don't know where to wire it to. Any suggestions on how to tune this engine up are appreciated.
