need input from yall

I am seriously thinking about trading in my 03 F350 srw for a 04 F550 & going on the road do yall think it's a wise choice buying a 6.0 & put hopefully 250-300k on it? all input will be considered.
my ford salesman that Iput alot of faith into says it will work , he has talked me into a ford & a f 550 because when not if I break down (because it is made by man) it will break in the middle of nowhere, & the is a ford dealer in the middle of nowhere. try to find a freightliner or a international dealer. engine & trans. is the same & it could be repaired quicker. lets hear what yall think!

I say why not just go for the F-650 or 750 and get the cat engine that is available in this line? If I remember correctly it puts out 300 HP and 800+ lbft of torque.

a couple of reasons
1) $ about 18 thousand
2) if I don't make it, my truck payment will be about $750 & I can still drive it every day you don't want to drive a f 650 daily
3) f 550 breaks there is a better chance a dealer will have the parts, only select dealers can repair a 650

Yes 12.8 mpg on the hwy empty, 8.2 mpg in the city empty,6.2 towing any thing from 3k to 10k mpg the same. been to all the ford stores cant fix it they have no clue. you will go broke with the 6.0 fuel sucker trying to earn money pulling, I DONT BELIEVE THE POST ABOUT GETTING GOOD MPG. have talked to over 50 6.0 owners only 3 were happy and they didnt know what there mpgs were. I find it hard to believe that some are doing so good when every one that I have talked to is unhappy. that also include my friend who is sales manager at largest ford store in town he told me he is tired of his cvustomers wearing out about the 6.0 and all of its problems.
