Engine swap
I have an 83 F-150 with a 300 six in it,4 speed 4wheel drive.I also have an 86 F-150 with a 351HOand an auto trans 2 wheel drive I want to put the 351 in the 83 4x4,what will I need to do and or get to perform this swap??The six has a bad knock and the 351 only has about 70,000 miles on it.Oh ya what was the horsepower , torque on these engines .Thanks alot

your going to need the frame mounts out of the 86,the exhaust needs to be changed some of the wiring is going to be differant but you have the donor truck,the tranny has the same bolt pattern but I'm sure that I herd somewere on here that the input shaft is differant or somthing like that, and I'm not sure about the hp and torque.
