I see alot of Volare' users here. I am wondering, as I design brackets for the mopar pump on my Cordoba (Gibbon) IFS with 351 W.....
Does anyone have GOOD experience with a Ford pump on a Mopar IFS? Sure would make life easier. I read in one of the comic books that pressure is too high for steering box.
and / or got a photo of a mopar pump on a 302 or 351W to help me out?
I'm running that combo. It's my opinion that the Ford pump definitely puts out more than optimum pressure, and that most people get by with it for a long time anyway.
I am running the Gibbons/Cordoba but I think the boxes are the same. I have burned up 4 pumps and 3 boxes if I remember correctly and several hoses. One pump ended up with a blistered plastic reservoir.
I cut the spring on the pressure relief valve and added a cooler and it appears to have fixed the problem. Mileage approaching 80K.
