I have an '01 F-250 V-10 CC SWB with about 4400 miles on it. About 70% of the time when I start the engine it's followed by a 'clunk' from the front end. My guess: after the hydraulic pressure is built up, something in the steering system or front end releases or moves which causes the clunk. Any body hearing the same thing? Other guesses as to what could be causing this?
Happens with our without the brake on. Has happened while in Park, but also shortly after shifting into Drive and while moving. Can't seem to feel steering wheel move when this happens but the power steering system is my best guess as to where it's coming from.

Sometimes you will hear a loud clunk if you left your air conditioner on when you turn the truck off. When you start it again the next time ,the diverter door will shut making a clunking noise. You may want to make sure it's off next time. Good luck
Thanks Supercrew...It's not the air conditioner (I rarely use it), but thanks for the heads up. I'll keep that in mind to make sure that's not the problem.
