the front of my bed on my 61 lwb unibody is rusted out..whats the best way to patch it? any ideas?i cant find any patch panels so i asume they dont make them for a 61..will anything work from newer trucks?
Thanks..Tom
Whoops you made that quite clear now that I look at it. Sorry I must have just rushed through your post. No one that I know of makes the patch pannels. You can either find a donor truck and cut that bed up to patch yours. You could also remove the whole existing bed and replace it with something like diamond plate. I have seen a few guys that have done this and it comes out looking real nice. Other than that you got me stumped.
Good luck!!
Ben
Tom;
Not knowing the real differents in a unibody bed floor than say a style side; and finding a donor hard to do; I recommen just cutting out the bed floor and welding in a flat 1/4" sheet of metal; some people even use step side wood floor beds as well;
Just some crazy ideals.
thanks guys,im guessing a donor truck around here will be as bad as mine..the aluminum diomond plate sounds like that would look good.i work in a machine shop so ill have our material purchaser get me a price..thanks..Tom
