Ok, here's the deal with the lights, well my deal at least.
I have ordered the Y3CZ kit, came in round Hella with a aftermarket looking underdash switch in the kit.
I then ordered/backordered the F81Z-15200-AA kit and got it today. It also has round lights Hella but has a new switch combo that has the words "Pull for Fog" on it.
Both of these kits make you cut the lower valence next to the hooks and in the opening...don't wanna do that, I want the square ones.
So, since I am getting close to finding the right ones...does anybody have a part number for the square lights, please help.
LAST EDITED ON 27-Apr-01 AT 01:59 PM (EST)[p]Thanks to the information I received from this board, I stayed away from the $300 kit with the round lights. I went to my Ford dealer and ordered the "Production Lights" for the 2001 Super Duty if anyone needs the exact part number send me an e-mail (dburanich@mediaone.net). They were approx. $80 each and were the square lights with the brackets, just like the ones on the 2001 trucks. I had to attach a 2"x6" metal bracket to the plastic frame behind the front grill to accommodate the factory bracket but they were fairly easy to install to my 99 super duty. You have to disassemble the bracket from the light so it will fit through the front valence and then reattach them once you are inside next to your radiator. Other than that you cannot tell the difference between the factory lights on a 2001 and the lights on my 99. Looks great.
Did you also replace the headlight switch to turn on the fog lamps? I am looking to do the same and was wondering if the 99 plug will fit the 01 switch. Or did you have to use a separate switch for the fogs? Any info appreciated.
Thanks,
Dayton
