skid plate question
I have an 03 XLT and am looking for a set of skid plates. I found a transfer case skid plate on the net that came off an 88.
Does anyone know if that plate will fit on my 03?

My guess is no, but I suspect that with a little modification, it would work. It depends on how much you have to pay for the plate. It is just a flat piece of steel with a few bends. Why don't you call the Ford dealer and see how much a new one costs? It might be cheaper in the long run, unless you have the tools and shop to modify the 88 plate.

I can get the used one for cheap, around $20. The dealer wants around 200 bucks for the two front plates (this is one of them) so it might be worth it.
Thing is..I don't have a machine shop in my garage..so it may be a chore to modify depending on what is needed.
