I'm removing the passenger side headlamp to replace it with a new one - the old one was cracked and condensated.
I followed the instructions for removal:
1. Remove two screws and two nuts retaining door assembly.
I have removed these two screws - the two nuts are what the two screws turned into to -right?
2.Pull door assembly from vehicle and remove 3 bulbs and sockets.
Well i am having a hell of a time getting the door to pull from the vehicle- is there a secret I am missing or is there something I am doing wrong??? I don't want to break the headlamp door..
I know on my 88 models I have to remove the whole mounting bracket. then the head lamp & corner lamps come off with them.
If I purchased a new headlamp for my truck I will also get a new mounting bracket then all I would have to do is swap the corner lamps then reassemble to whole thing.
But the two nuts you need to remove are down on the backside of the headlight assembly, through the core support. Behind the battery and the window washer fluid and coolant recovery tank.
If these are what you already have removed, sorry.
All right thanks for that info there - I didn't see those nuts . I for sure would have broke the headlamp door trying to pull that thing off. Thanks for the info SuperDave
Well I got that sucker out of there- those two nuts are in a tight spot but I got at them by configuring a extension on my wrench with a vise grips. The clips are also a pain in neck to get out- I just broke the plastic on the inserts from the old headlamp. The new one is in adjusted and looking good. Thanks for the help!!!
