i just rebuilt the engine in my 90 bronco with 302 and put in a cam along with new headers and exhaust system, knn fipk kit also, and i will need to get a chip for the cams, but i saw that superchips has a programmer that you can just plug into your original computers dianostics plug and program it to the specs you need, is this true? if so where can i get one and if not what chip can i get for it my truck and where can i get it. thanks for the help
Go to Motorhavens web-site, if they make on for your truck it will be listed. Simple enough, it will also tell you everything about it, if they do make one for your truck.
For a 1995 or older you'll need to use a chip because the programmers will not work with it. Your 92 does not have a flashable computer and has to be reprogrammed with a chip attached to the PCM service port.
well for my 302 the specs are supposed to be 114 deg lobe seperation and mine are 110 deg, i dont know how much of a diff that is. i also have speed density. i forgot to ask if it is emissions legal for cali. thanks for the info
No such thing as an emissions legal custom chip. Only chips for stock applications can be emissions certified (unless you want to go through the trouble and expensive of certifying your chip yourself).
How much vacuum is the engine drawing right now? Is it above or below 13 inches?
i cant say right now how much vacuum cause i dont have it running i just finished the rebuild and i havent been able to fix the timing cause it wont start yet at least i hope its the timing, im getting spark and everything
That looks like a Comp cams part #. If so you should've went with 31-255-5 it has 114 degrees lobe sep and around 485 lift and was designed for our EFI trucks.
