Clutch Adjustment
1988 F-150 4X4, 5 SPD TRANS
IS THE CLUTCH ADJUSTABLE ON FORD'S?
MY OLD DODGE WAS A MECHANICAL CLUTCH AND WAS REALLY EASY TO ADJUST, BUT THIS TRUCK USES A HYDRAULIC CLUTCH.
WHITE TAG ON TRANS SOWS " E 18 A" , SO I GUESS THATS THE MODEL.

They hydraulic clutches on fords are not adjustable, at least all of the ones that I've dealt with. I was having trouble with the clutch in my '88 F-250, hard to push, didn't totally disengage, etc. I replaced the whole system on mine, and its working like new again. There is a part that the mechanics refer to as a hogs head that is in the upper portion of the hydralic circuit that can cause trouble and make it hard to push, you can try replacing that, or just try bleeding the clutch, that sometimes helps as well. Other than that there isn't really any adjustability.
