header installiation question

Hey there
just wondering what i have to do to the exhaust to make a header bolt up on a 300 I6. or will it bolt right on factory exhaut pipe.

Depends.

If you go with EFI manifolds from an 87+, you just need a walker downpipe.

If you have duals, you'll have to get a whole new exhaust. the singles wont fit without mods either.

sorry man not sure i got that. Im talking about a header not manifolds.
what do you mean by EFI. is there a diffrence in the 87 because i have an 80. and i thought the down pipe was part of the stock exhaust.

If you have an 86 or older, you can use the 87+ manifolds like headers. They give you better flow, and are fairly easy to bolt up.

However, with regular headers, you'll have to fab up a y-pipe or have duals bent the whole way back.

thanks alot man for clearing that up for me. so what whould you use the 87+ manifold or go with a header. the manifold sure dose sound easyer. THANKS ALOT
