Front coil spring plates
Greetings all,
On my 78 F150 dana44, I noticed that my front coil spring looks kinda bent. Looking at the passenger side spring, it's '(' shaped (curved towards the front). I'm thinking the plate that's mounted to the axle where the bottom of the spring sits is broken or bent. The radius arm bushings are sound, as are the 'c' bushings where the radius arm meets the axle.
First question, could it be the plate? If so, and if it's not too rusted, can it be welded? If it's not the plate, what else could it be?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
