96 Explorer Power locks....again...
The unlock on my drivers door has always worked....the lock stopped about 4 months ago. It unlocks all doors, doesn't lock any. The passenger side door just recently stopped locking the doors, but the unlock still works as does the driver's side.
When the passenger side was still working, I tried taking the switch from the driver side and switching with the passenger side....and the same problem occured. (so what if the "U" and the "L" are upside down) Anyway....it didn't work. It can't be the actuators....because all the doors unlock and lock using the rear door lock (in the back). And it can't be the switch because when I switched them in the front, the passenger side was still working!! SO I figured it must be wiring....and there was only one thread speaking of faulty wiring...but I haven't tried anything yet.
Does anyone have a definative answer for this problem? I'm plenty annoyed now that I can't even reach over to the passenger side to lock the doors.
PLEASE HELP!!!
yours seem to me as if it might be the master switch since it's affecting the other doors. try removing the switch and cleaning all the contacts both external (where it connects to the harnass) and internal ( where the switch makes contact) You might have to do some disassembly.
