Lariat package

Lariat package
I like the looks of the Lariat package, but I am not sold on it. I would appreciate any info/help on deciding whether or not the Lariat tim in a SD 4x4 CC is worth the extra $$$. Any pros or cons from personal experience please. Thanks for any help.

I think you have to get the lariat package:
If you want leather.
If you like wood trim on the interior.
If you like the rims the lariat package comes with.
If you want the trip/mileage computer.
In 2001, there might be some other items are unique to the lariat package..
Also, there other items that are part of the lariat package, but can also be orderable without it.. However, if you plan on getting most of these items anyway, you might get more for less if you opt for the package..
Cons:
The lariat only comes with leather, so if you like cloth seats, the lariat is not for you.
If you don't like the looks of the lariat rims, and wood trim..
For me, the XLT package was great..

Lariat package
I love the Lariat package! I liked the leather, for me they areeasier to clean than the cloth. (I have 3 dogs that ride in my truck.) I love the computer; it tracks your avg. mpg, outside temp etc. I personally enjoy the wood trim. I think it is an excellent package. I have had my truck for a little over a year. (I ordered my 2000 SD,SC,LB,V-10,LARIAT,4X4,ORP)

Lariat package

My only regret is that I was unable to order the Aux Idle Controller with a Lariat. I have since found out that I don't need it as I have an AT with PTO - a simple switch circuit can set idle at 1200 rpm.
Sounds like you may be ordering a new truck - be sure to check the details of what is/isn't included in the Lariat for '02 versus '01. There are some new goodies, but a couple I like are no more.
