Question recommended tire size

I am getting new tires for my truck this week and was wondering what the recommended size would be. It currently has p235/70R15 tires on it but the speedometer is way off! (running 50 when the speedo says 40!) I was wondering if it could be that the truck already has the incorrect size on it. I did not get an owners manual with the truck to be able to look it up, so im asking everyone here.

I do not know what tire size...first off...but i can help you get a faster response and answer i am hoping. List truck year...series...axle codes...vin number..and all the info on the vin tag and info tag inside the door...so that the people with the info can have something to refrence when recommending an aftermarket...and looking up the stock tire sizes..

The correct size from the factory is 235/75/15. Sounds like the speedometer is not calibrated correctly. Get the new tires, then do a search here for calibrating the speedo, and you'll be set. I'm putting 31x10.50 tires on my '73 F100 2wd, so I'll have to be correcting my speedo too.

Correcting the speedometer aint no big deal. My advice: get the biggest tires you can fit under it. Mine has 31's right now but they are to small. I need 33's
