interesting tranny issue
Well here is the delima. I just bought a 2000 ford f150 4x4 with 5.4l engine. I just did a tranny fluid/filter change and then it got interesting. The pic you see is a part that was in the tranny pan. I have no idea what the part is. It is an automatic tranny.
Does anyone know what the heck this is and where it goes?

Son, You done popped her cherry ! That thingy is a plug used at the factory to seal up the tranny while the truck or car is being assembled. It falls into the pan when the filler tube is installed, and stays there till the tranny is first serviced and is usually thrown away by the service mechanic. If it's there , you know you've gone where no man has gone before.
