HELP! Battery,alternator problems
I have a 99' f-150, 4x4,v-8 4.6Liter and about 4 weeks ago my battery light came on , then about 2 weeks ago my battery was dead and wouldn't do one thing electrically. I went to dealership and explained things and they told me it was the battery and the alternator both. Worked fine for a week and a half but the battery light stayed on. A couple of days ago things quit on me again. I replaced it with a used battery twice in one day, then new battery was recharged I put it on, it ran all day and a couple of hours that night with the lights and heater on. Now it is dead again. I checked all fuses and none blown. Don't really know how to check a relay, I have a meter but just never had to check before. Now after checking fuses and replacing with another new battery(but only 500 CCA's, instead of my 850CCA original) It won't start, I turnthe key on and my lights come on but gauges do nothing and starter does nothing. please help, my truck has 118,000 miles by the way. thanks
