I was leaving work today and i started hearing a clunking noise coming from the transfer case as soon as I started taking off. I didnt know what to do. I tried to push it farther into 2wd and it made it worse for a couply seconds.. I turned around back to work with it still clunking. As pulling into the parking lot I pushed in the clutch and pit it in 4 high and no difference at all and quickly put it back in 2wd, parked it, and shut it off and looked around. started it back up. put it in reverse then put in in gear. it made a little bit of clunking noise. then I punched the 460's throttle quickly and made the truck jump and it stopped making a clunking noise immediatley and drove fine all the way home. I got home and put in 4 high took off for a few feet then put in back in 2wd and took it around and there still was no problem. What happened??? I havnt been doing any offroading or even using 4wd. I've just been driving it back and forth to work. I did install a cb radio on my break today under the dash and maybe I accidently knocked the linkage out of a specified range??? yesterday i greased the front end and u-joints but it was fine on the ride in to work this morning. Did i damge something? I sure hope not.. I really dont feel like putting any more money into this truck. it drove fine on the way home.
