the coil and the module are worth replacing, if you have a friend with a simaler truck, try borrowing the parts to see which is bad, also try this forum hear at FTE... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/f...?s=&forumid=28
don't worry it lol. the module is located below the rotor button, its flat , about 3inches long, with wires running into it, with plugs, its black in color i think.with 2 screws holding it
I wish I had a friend that I could get parts off his truck but no such luck, so between the coil and the module which do you think I should spend the limited funds on 1st ( dont worry I wont hold you Liable LoL) again to help you educated guess the coil spark wasnt all that big tho I dont really know what it should look like and also lets keep in mind that the stalls happen when warm so are either (or both) these components likely to fail under heat
the module replaced points,it is what is what tells the coil to fire.its small computer chip, your spark should have a nice blue spark and should not have any "pinkish"or orange color to it.
call auto zone for pricing, sometimes a salage yard might have the parts but these parts are faily cheap, with a weak (oranaage/pink ) spark i'd go with the coil first, then module
it didnt look pink or orange at all... it was blue... I just would think it should be alot stronger but what do I know ..I would liken the strength of spark to about what a spark ignition on a kitchen gas stove for what thats worth... n e way I'll try the coil next after I fix the darn blown radiator hose....then I can try and figure out if I have a radiator problem ....but at least for now Im a little relieved that I determined that its a no spark issue and hopefully nothing more like slightly leaking head gasket.. but we'll see
Much thanks again f=2504by497
I'll let ya know
