Water pump is shot

I have a copy of the Haynes manual. It doesn't look too bad, but would like to here from folks that have replaced theirs. Should I plan on a couple hours or will it take the good part of a day?
Also, I'm going to replace the belts while I'm at it. Is there anything else that you would suggest doing while I'm at it?

i recently replaced my water pump a few days ago. it wasnt to hard and only took about 3-4 hours. my only problem was getting the fan clutch off. the fan shroud should tell u what direction the thread is on the clutch. in my 94 mazda b4000 it was a right handed thread. to get the clutch off i had to get a torch and heat up the nut, then twist it off with a wrench. the water pump had 12 bolts (11mm) and to get access to all of them i had to remove the alternator (3 bolts) and the bracket (3 bolts) that it was mounted on. that bracket also holds the tensioner pulley. good luck...
