Outboard motors

I recently acquired a 25 horse evinrude outboard low hours from a yard sale the lady said it was a 1997-1998 model took it home ran fine on the barrel anyone know what it is worth before i try to sell it. I bought iy to replace my chrysler 15 horse but the motor is too big and heavy for my duck boat.

A new 25 HP will run you about $2700 and up. I just bought a new 25hp 4cycle Merc last year for $2500, and feel like I got a bargain.

Check your local want ads, as well as look at some of the dealers that sell used OB's. General rule of thumb for new OB's is $100/HP, higher for below 25HP and less for 40HP and up.
