Mystery 360?
a 360.I installed an HV oil pump and ARP pump shaft.I figured
since I was on my back I would replace the rod bearings.While
I was doing that I happened to notice that the pistons were
not full skirt but slipper skirt style.From what I have read the 360
should have full skirt pistons.The rod bearings were ford parts
dated 2/76.Is it possible they just threw parts together since this
was the last year for the FE? Did they put a 390 in the 4x4's?
Rod bearings were worn to the copper,so they needed replacing. Oil pump was also worn to just inside specs.I picked up
25 psi on cold start. Not sure which change helped more.And
what the hey I threw in the windage tray too.I know the only
way to tell for sure is to measure the stroke.Just found this
curious.
