Well after a few off-road trips, in the snow, with my current setup of 4.10 gears and limited slip both front & rear, I realized that I do need a locker or two. I finally ordered an ARB for the rear and 4.56 gears for both front & rear. I, Also, odered some OX U-joints for the front axles.
The OX U-joints are real cool and just as beefy as the CTM's. And they are about $40-$80 cheaper than the CTM's, and more readlily available.
Also, found out that ARB is coming out with several new units in mid summer. They finally realized that there is a need for larger axles for the Dana 44's up front. From what I heard from ARB, is that they are coming out with 33 spline and 35 spline ARB's along with their current stock 30 spline axle ARB units.
And since I had installed an Atlas II transfer case with 3.8 low range and a KluneV under-drive unit with 2.7 low range. into my Bronco, I'm planning on ordering at least the 33 splined ARB when they come out. Then I will also have to order the 35 spline axles to accomedate it. Ya, I know, right now the weakest link for the front is the U-joints up front. Same thing with the axles. But, once I have these new OX U-Joints and a 33 or 35 splined ARB and axles to match, I don't see any problems. Considering the fact that I DON'T jump or ABUSE my rig to the point of destruction, and that fact that this my only running vehicle for the time being.
That's cool!!! I would like to install an ARB in the front D44 TTB, but would like to strengthen the parts as much as possible. Torn between doing that and an SAS.
