Yesterday I purchased a used 1998 F-150 supercab 4x4 with a 5.4 triton.
It's a great truck; came with a brand new ranch hand on the front, K&N filter, Flowmaster 40 delta, spray in bedliner, and just clean as a hospital floor.
My only question is, on the tailgate, it says in the lower left hand corner "SVT f-150"
Now, I thought the SVT was the lightning. Does it sound like the previous owner got a hold of a lightning tailgate emblem and glued it on?
SVT stands for "special vehicle team" and they are responsible for the cobra mustang, lightning truck, svt focus, and many others. For your truck to have the emblem, it could be as simple as someone put the emblem on or that the tailgate was destroyed and that was an easy replacement (same color or something)
Originally posted by kc5deb Called the owner (heh, pays to know people with connections). He replaced the emblem only. No damaged tailgate, and no accidental supercharger
Although, I really wouldn't have cared if it had accidently had a supercharger...
tell your policeman friend that it is illegal to give out MVR information! heh heh heh...jk.
Yeah, I'm guessing a class B or C misdemeanor. Going through the police academy, and although we've talked about how extremely bad that is to do, we haven't gotten to the classification of offense.
BUT, no, that's not where I got the info Just so happens, my sales guy grew up with my wife, so, placed a call back to him to get the info.
