The display on my '98 has gone out. The stereo works in every way, but the display. So, I took out the stereo and opened it up and looked at the LCD panel and I can see a small burn mark around the lower right corner of the display. Now, I've read around and found out that this is a rather common issue with F150's and Ford trucks in general that they fixed around 2000 or so. So, my questions are, in no particular order..
1. Can the display be removed? It looks like it's a IC style chip that is in a housing that is soldered to the board.
