My 94 has a diagnostic connector under the hood. It is hanging from a dummy connector on the fire wall above the engine near the middle. I think it's just to the left of the transmission dip stick.
There are two connectors one is a big black multi pin connector with an odd shape. The other is just a single spade type connector.
I own a 93 and found it where these guys say it is,also found on a sight what the codes meant from someone who wrote back to me,check on thread how to read codes I believe the sight is still there.

Another question concerning diag codes.
What is the diag when the "air bag" light flashes a 3X2 signal??? It randomly decides to do this. Sometimes not at all, sometimes each time all day.
Also, I get several sparkplug pings when in overdrive going up a hill at about 50-60 mph. What do you think needs to be worked on??
It's a 94 4.0L XLT Extnd Van with 195,000 original one owner miles.
Other than these two items above it looks and runs very good.
Please respond as soon as possible...THANKS
Hi Horizon999
I heard of this problem on other Fords about the air bag light but never got an answer about the solution.Wonder if it could be a bad connection at the sensor, but I feel you should get the right information before playing with that stuff. As for spark plug pings sounds like the timing may be off? or I wonder if it could be the fact that you are in overdrive? These are not conclusive answers but suggestions from someone who is getting use to a Ford product which I haven't owned in years when they were simple to work on,good luck keep us posted.

when mine started flashing 3-2 it turned out to be a broken clockspring in the steering column. Its a wound up ribbon connector that carries the horn, cruise, and airbag connections. When it breaks, it does so slowly. If you find you have no horn soon, or cruise, or both, thats where to look. 3-2 means no complete circuit, so the line could be broken elsewhere.
Yes i too suffer the annoying air bag dilemna. I tend to just ignore it. I have to admit.. I own 4 Fords, and my 94 Aero is the oldest and highest mileage of them all but I love this vehicle. What a tank, and the reliability of the 4.0 is unreal.
