Speedometer cluster replacement
I obtained a used speedometer cluster with tach from a 2000 Ford Explorer Limited 5.0L V-8 Auto.
1. What are the procedures for removing the old cluster (no tach) and replacing it with the newly purchased item?
2. What will I have to do to reprogram it for use in my truck?
3. Am I able to use my original speedometer mileage head for replacement and if so, how?
4. Any other problems that I might encounter during this installation?

1). Get a service manual for the proceedures. The book will come in handy for future needs.
4).....If you mess with the odometer without some kind of valid documentation, you will probably loose money when you sell the truck.
2). Take the truck to the dealer and they can reprogram it for you. If you plan to put taller tires on as well, you should do that first so you only have the reprogramming done once.
