I went through the diagnosis procedure and I think I traced the problem to the steering wheel switches.
In reading the service manual it states that the battery and air bag backup power supply needs to be disconnected before removing the air bag.
I can't fine where the backup power supply is located. Any one know? Any others out there with bad speed conrtol switches?
Just replied to saiters post "cruise". Yours is similar. When I replaced my clockspring I just unplugged the airbag connector in the steering column after lifting it out.
