oil slinger
well in the process if putting my 390 togather today i was looking through my steve christ book and came across where it said something about the oil slinger that goes on the crank shaft before you put the timeing cover on, i dont recall when i took my 390 apart it haveing one, do you know if i need this or was the oil slinger only on certain engines, this is the only thing holding me up right now it bugs me sense i didnt recall it being on there when i took it apart and ive searched everywhere and i cant find it. any help would be appreciated thanks.

The slinger is that little washer looking thing that slides on the crank snout in front of the timing chain gear and before the spacer. It is necessary to oil the timing chain. I would get one from the scrapyard.
