Need some info on replacing the pump on my 91 F150. What brand/type/size of pulley puller/installer do I buy or rent and where is the best place to get it from?
I will need to replace the return line because it is leaking; can the rubber hose be replaced without having to replace the tubing part? I know that it clamps onto the pump but not sure how it is attached to the tubing part of the line.
And lastly, do I need to have any seals on hand when I install the lines on the pump and/or steering gear assembly?
Thanks in advance for the info anyone can provide.
Just get a remanufactured unit with life time replacement warrenty from Autozone. They also have a puller/installer that you can borrow for free. The return line has not such pressure, just replace the rubber hose with new hose clamp. Make sure you replace with steering/transmission hose. Flush the all old fluid in the system. I prevuosly posted a reply how to flush the system, please do a search. While you at it, inspect the belt and replace as needed. Pretty easy just a hiours job. Good luck.
